Running Lights : Are they Still needed in the summer?
There are the days when going for a run just feels right. The sun is shining, the birds are singing and the temperature is ideal. These are not really the weather conditions we link to Running lights.
Durring this time of year we are normally increasing the mileage for the big race or that personal goal. Should that be London marathon, Vitality 10k or even a local Parkrun. Yes we understand many races and events have ben cancelled for both 2020 & 2021 due to covid19, But hopefully we are getting on top of it and as we see the infection rate drop, more and more races will be returning.
Until the barriers have been raised and we return to somewhat a normal life. Training by yourself or as a small group is the way forward. But should we be running as group of 6 or by yourself. The question we need to be asking
Should we use a Running light: when running the in the summer?
In our opinion the answer is Yes, however it depends when your running . As stated above the issue we have when increasing our mileage we will start either start earlier in the morning or run into darkness. These are the times when more accidents happening and sometime leaves you in a bad position for your up coming race or event.
But the thought about running with extra weight of object on 13.1 mile or half marathon distance or even the full Marathon or ultra marathon and be daunting. Which is why we have found the Lightest Running Lights on the market for 2021. Should that be Running headtorches, Running Chest Lights or the newer Running Vests with lights.
Before we jump into our recommendations, Is there anything else we need to think about apart from weight?
