As a grassroots football coach and father of two avid Junior footballers, I was keen to try out the Boot Buddy having seen it advertised.I have to say, it works really well. Even when caked in mud, it takes hardly any time to scrape and clean football boots and they come up really well. You won’t get them like new but you’ll get them as close as.So in once sense, I really like the product. My problem is the durability. I’ve had two in the last 10 months and both have failed in the same way with the brush head crumbling apart and the plastic head breaking.The Boot Buddy doesn’t come cheap so I do wonder if it’s worth the money given that they only seem to last a few months.

It is a brilliant design, just what I needed. However, for some plastic and a brush at the end, I do think it is a bit pricey – although to be fair, I did receive a cleaning cloth and a shoe cleaning spray sample too. Also, it could have been built a bit tougher for the price, as the brush head has already popped off – although not broken, and I managed to fix it back. The addition of a grip handle or rubber grip would definitely help as it keeps slipping out of my hand when brushing off tougher muddy bits from the sides of my boots. Overall, it does the job and is something I’ve been looking for, for some time now to replace using ‘used’ toothbrushes.
